Informativa sulla privacy
Ultimo aggiornamento: 4 November 2026
This policy explains what data CueTwin collects, what it is used for and what rights you have. CueTwin is an online teleprompter: you write a script on your computer and read it on another screen, with the text moving at the pace of your voice.
1. Who is responsible
The data controller is Miguel Brandão, in Portugal. For any privacy question, write to miguellbwork@gmail.com.
2. What data we collect
From your Google account
When you sign in with Google, we only receive your name, email address, profile picture and Google account identifier. We only ask for the basic sign-in permissions (openid, email and profile). We have no access to your Gmail, Drive, contacts or any other Google service.
What you create in CueTwin
- Your scripts (title, text and folder) and, on the Pro plan, their previous versions.
- Your settings: remote keys and buttons, voice language, speed, font size and countdown.
Payments
If you subscribe to Pro, payment is handled by Stripe. We only store your Stripe customer identifier and the subscription status (active, period, renewal). We never receive or store your card details.
During a presentation
To connect your phone to your computer, we temporarily store the connection code (it expires after 10 minutes), a copy of the script being presented, the reading position and the type of connected device (for example, “iPhone”). This data deletes itself after 12 hours. Phones used only as a screen or remote do not need an account.
Technical data
Your IP address is used for 1 minute to limit the number of requests and connection-code attempts, and may appear in the server’s technical logs, used only for security and troubleshooting.
3. Your voice
CueTwin does not record audio, does not send audio to our servers and does not store transcripts. Recognised words are only used in the moment, to know where you are in the text. Recognition is done by your browser (Web Speech API).
Note: in Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Safari, the browser itself may send the audio to Google’s, Microsoft’s or Apple’s speech recognition service to transcribe it, under those browsers’ privacy policies. If you choose a phone as the microphone, the words recognised on that phone are sent to your computer through CueTwin, only during the presentation and without being stored. If you prefer not to use speech recognition, use scroll mode, which does not use the microphone.
4. Why we use data, and on what legal basis
- Providing the service (creating your account, saving scripts, connecting your screens): performance of our contract with you.
- Charging for Pro and issuing invoices: performance of the contract and legal obligations.
- Security, abuse prevention and fixing errors: our legitimate interest in keeping the service safe and working.
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising or share it for marketing.
5. Use of Google data
CueTwin’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Your Google account data is only used to identify you in CueTwin.
6. Who we share data with
We use these service providers, who process data only on our behalf and for these purposes:
- Hetzner Online GmbH: server and database hosting in Helsinki, Finland (European Union).
- Google: Google sign-in and the website fonts (Google Fonts).
- Stripe: payment processing for the Pro plan.
- Error monitoring (Sentry or GlitchTip), when enabled: technical error reports, without the content of your scripts.
Google and Stripe may process data outside the European Union under the safeguards provided by the GDPR (for example, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses).
7. Cookies and browser storage
We use two cookies, both needed for the service to work: ct_session, to keep you signed in (it lasts 30 days), and ct_lang, which remembers the language you chose. In your browser we also store preferences such as the theme, each screen’s adjustments and, on phones connected with a code, a temporary identifier until you close the tab. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
8. How long we keep data
- Account, scripts and settings: while you have an account. You can delete everything at once in Settings → Delete account.
- Previous script versions (Pro plan): 30 days.
- Presentation data: up to 12 hours.
- Billing data: for the period required by law.
9. Your rights
In Settings you can export all your data (JSON file) and delete your account. You can also request access, correction, deletion or portability of your data, and object to or restrict its processing, by writing to miguellbwork@gmail.com from your account’s email. We reply within 30 days. You can also remove CueTwin’s access to your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
If you believe your data was not handled correctly, you can complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, CNPD (cnpd.pt), or to the authority in your country.
10. Minimum age
CueTwin is not intended for anyone under 16.
11. Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will let you know on the website or by email before the changes take effect. See also the Terms of Service.
