How to choose
- Want the text to follow you? Pick an app with speech recognition. With fixed speed, you have to keep up with the text.
- Do you write on a computer? An app that links the computer to the phone saves copying text back and forth and lets you fix things mid-take.
- Already have a camera and an editor? Don’t pay for recording and captions you won’t use.
- Need several screens or a remote? Check that the plan includes more than one screen and Bluetooth remotes.
CueTwin
You write and control on your computer and read on your phone, tablet or another screen, connected with a QR code. The text follows your voice, waits when you ad-lib, and you can edit it mid-recording. It runs in the browser with nothing to install, and works with Bluetooth remotes, pedals or a second phone as the remote.
Good for: people who record with the camera they already have and want voice-follow at the lowest price. Doesn’t do: video recording or editing.
Teleprompter.com
A phone app that records video while you read, with captions and AI features. The free plan already includes voice, but videos carry a watermark.
Good for: people who record everything on the phone and want to edit right there. Keep in mind: the monthly plan is the most expensive on this list.
PromptSmart
One of the best-known voice teleprompters (VoiceTrack), with phone and computer apps and support for remotes.
Good for: people who want a native app with voice. Keep in mind: there’s no free plan, only a 7-day trial.

A browser teleprompter with voice and features for teams and collaboration. The free plan limits voice to 10 minutes a month.
Good for: teams that write scripts together. Keep in mind: the paid plan is yearly and the most expensive per year.
BIGVU
More than a teleprompter: it records, edits, captions and publishes videos, with AI features.
Good for: people who want everything in one app, from script to publishing. Keep in mind: on the free plan, videos are 720p and watermarked.
